Goodbye boardroom, hello backroom! After many years as a global retail executive, I left the boardroom behind and The Avid Host was born! Little did I realize that it had been brewing for many years. 

 

Let me explain… 

 

It was a tradition, at our home, to host weekly “Friday Night Appetizers” with friends, family and neighbours. Everyone was welcome! It was a casual gathering with lots of laughs, screaming kids, dogs, cats, lots of creative appetizers and a cocktail or two. It was a great way to end the week and start the weekend. 

 

Many great conversations were had, and memories made that will last a lifetime. There is nothing better than spending an evening laughing with friends! Really…nothing better! 

 

Then along came COVID and we all realized, more than ever how much we needed each other, and it was time…it was time to start The Avid Host. A place where you can find everything you need to entertain and have fun at home, whether you’re having Friday night apps, movie night, game night, girls night, celebrating milestones or hosting a dinner party.  

 

I hope our story inspires you to get together more often because life should be celebrated on a regular basis.
